REMI Network offers some highlights from a recent Chubb Insurance white paper focused on how the sharing economy and ubiquity of connected devices could be a potential liability issue for Millennials. They wrote:

“Social media and the burgeoning sharing economy expand the range of Gen Y liability risks beyond what young adults faced in earlier eras. The white paper warns that unseemly online comments can prompt defamation charges and/or arise to haunt the author at a time long after, while housing swap services increase the potential for property damage, property loss or liability due to injuries sustained on the property.”

It could definitely present a liability issue from a number of angles and the more someone is involved in as a freelancer or general contractor they more they expose their self to potentially having a problem.
